Summary

Short Description:
A key member of a small finance team, the role will be working closely with the Management Accountant & Accounts Assistant. This role will allow access to all areas of the accounts function, enabling the candidate to gain valuable experience, on their journey to becoming a well rounded qualified accountant, in the future. The opportunity on offer, is with an established Organisation, with a history spanning over 100 years.

Full Description:
ACCOUNTABILITY
The post reports to the Management Accountant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales ledger:
· Working with the business development team ensuring invoices are correctly recorded within the customer relationship management system
· Raising customer credits & refunds
· Allocating payments
· Answering member invoice queries & providing copy invoices
· Monthly reconciliation of the customer relationship management system to the finance system

Purchase Ledger:
· Purchase invoice checking and liaising with supplier if there are issues
· Distribute invoices received for authorisation by budget holders
· Entering invoices onto the finance system and making sure they are paid on time.

Other
· Weekly bank reconciliations
· Working with the events team to ensure that the cost tracker is maintained and updated
· Assist in month end processes including preparing journals
· Other admin/ad hoc tasks to assist the finance team as and when required
· Scope to learn and develop within finance function

Training Provided:
BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Duration: 18 Months

Skills Required:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
· Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and an interest in gaining an accounting qualification.
· Knowledge of Excel
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

· Willing to learn finance and CRM systems.

Qualifications Required: GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
