Summary
JOB TITLE: Registered Manager
REPORTS TO: Responsible Individual
LOCATION: Warrington
SETTING: 3-bed EBD Children’s Residential Home
SALARY: £50,000–£60,000+ (dependent on experience and qualifications)
ROLE PURPOSE
To manage the day-to-day operation of an Ofsted-registered children’s home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance and positive outcomes for young people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the home in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
Provide strong leadership, supervision and performance management to the staff team.
Ensure high-quality care planning, risk assessments and accurate record keeping.
Maintain full regulatory compliance including health & safety, data protection and safer recruitment.
Monitor incidents, audits and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
Build effective relationships with local authorities, Ofsted and partner agencies.
Promote a therapeutic, child-centred culture and positive behaviour support approach.
Manage staffing, rotas, budgets and resources effectively.
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (completed or in progress).
Experience
Recent experience in children’s residential care.
Minimum one year of Registered Manager experience.
Experience within an Ofsted-regulated setting.
Skills
Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement.
Effective leadership and organisational skills.
Resilient, accountable and solutions-focused.
