Summary
About us
At UCL, we believe that a thriving university community depends on the wellbeing, inclusion and belonging of our people. The Workplace Health team provides professional, evidence-based occupational health and wellbeing services that support staff and professionally regulated students to work, teach and research in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
Our service is SEQOHS accredited and plays a central role in advancing UCL's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We work collaboratively across HR, Organisational Development, staff networks and academic and professional services departments to create sustainable approaches that enable individuals and teams to flourish.
As part of an ambitious programme of work, we are strengthening our focus on disability inclusion within workplace wellbeing. This role represents an opportunity to shape meaningful organisational change and contribute to improving the lived experience of Disabled staff across one of the world's leading universities.
About the role
The Disability Wellbeing Advisor will play a key role in embedding disability-inclusive practice across UCL's wellbeing agenda. Combining subject-matter expertise with strong project delivery skills, you will help design, implement and evaluate initiatives that ensure wellbeing support is accessible, equitable and responsive to diverse needs.
Working within the Workplace Health team, you will lead and coordinate projects that translate evidence, best practice and lived experience into practical interventions. This will include developing inclusive wellbeing resources, supporting disability-confident approaches among managers, and contributing to campaigns and initiatives that promote inclusive workplace culture.
The role involves close partnership working across UCL - collaborating with Occupational Health, HR colleagues, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams, staff networks and departmental stakeholders. You will influence practice without direct authority, helping colleagues build confidence in disability-inclusive conversations, reasonable adjustments and supportive wellbeing approaches throughout the employee lifecycle.
Alongside delivery, you will contribute to longer-term organisational learning by evaluating impact, using data and staff insight to inform continuous improvement, and embedding sustainable frameworks rather than one-off interventions. This is a fixed-term position focused on delivering a defined portfolio of projects while building capability that will endure beyond the life of the role.
Please note, this is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract offered on a hybrid working basis. You will be based onsite at our London Kings Cross office for a minimum of 2-days per week.

Closing Date: 15-04-2026 - 23:59 (UK time)
About you
You will be an experienced disability, wellbeing or inclusion professional who brings both specialist knowledge and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach. You understand how disability inclusion connects to workplace wellbeing, organisational culture and the employee lifecycle, and you are motivated by the opportunity to influence positive systemic change.
You will have experience delivering projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders, balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery. Comfortable working in complex environments, you are able to navigate ambiguity, build trusted relationships and engage colleagues at all levels to develop shared ownership of inclusive practice.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will be confident developing accessible guidance and resources, facilitating conversations around sensitive topics, and supporting managers and colleagues to build capability in inclusive wellbeing approaches. You are equally comfortable working with qualitative and quantitative insight, using evaluation and feedback to refine initiatives and demonstrate impact.
Above all, you will share UCL's commitment to equity, collaboration and continuous improvement, bringing curiosity, empathy and professional judgement to your work. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who bring diverse perspectives and lived experience aligned with our commitment to inclusion.
