The PMO Officer / Manager is a senior role within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), responsible for the development, administration, and continuous improvement of the Trust's Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution, specifically Smartsheet and its related applications. The post-holder will ensure these technical solutions effectively support the delivery, governance, and reporting of the organisation's change portfolio, particularly digital and software development projects.

The PMO Officer / Manager will work closely with colleagues across the Trust in supporting the effective delivery and strategic alignment of the organisation's portfolio of projects and programmes.

The post holder will use specialist knowledge and proven in-depth experience in the management and supportive delivery of complex, high value programmes and projects within a highly complex healthcare setting in order to deliver the programmes’ benefits in full.

Working within the central PMO, the post holder will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust project and programme management methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting standards.



The post holder will develop and maintain portfolio-level dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure the timely collection, collation, and analysis of project and programme data to produce high-quality, accurate portfolio performance reports for senior executives, Boards, and external stakeholders e.g. NHS England.

With a strong understanding of project management principles, and excellent analytical skills, the post holder will work collaboratively across various clinical and corporate departments within the Trust.

As a source of expertise in PMO processes and best practice the post holder will develop and deliver, training, coaching and mentoring to project and programme managers.
