Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a Winsford-based single form entry primary school as they require an experienced and qualified teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time position based in a designated SEMH provision.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will work collaboratively with a the class teacher and SENCO to promote the engagement and learning of your new pupils. The class you will be working is at full capacity with a small group with individual ECHP’s with varying levels of SEMH. You will lead on 1:1 support, delivering a trauma-informed curriculum and tailoring your approach to best suit individual emotional & attainment needs as well as personalities, you will:
- Delivering well-being and mindfulness sessions to boost confidence and self-esteem
- Support with ELSA interventions
- Use extensive positive reinforcement and strategies to promote engagement
- Regularly liaise with the SENCO on pupil progress, further requirements and key milestones
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Referenceable experience supporting children and young people (classroom based is preferrable)
- Experience supporting SEMH and/or behavioural needs
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS check or willing to undergo
- An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
