Summary
A full-time, permanent Floating Support Worker to join our Newport Pathways Floating Support Team. You will be required to work Monday-Fri office hours, although flexibility is required to meet the needs of our customers.
As of 1st April 2026, the FTE for this role is £25,877.80
About the role
This service primarily supports individuals who have an offending history and/or face challenges with substance use.
This is a varied and fast-paced role, offering the opportunity to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds while making a meaningful difference to their lives. As part of our experienced team of Floating Support Workers, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support to help individuals achieve positive outcomes.
You will have the autonomy to plan and structure your week, ensuring each individual receives the best possible support. Working closely with partner services and external agencies, you will help ensure that the people we support receive tailored, coordinated support that meets their needs.
Day to day duties:
Managing your own caseload and electronic diary
Following safe working practices, such as the Lone working policy
Travelling to the people we support’s homes, or neutral venues where identified and agreed
Engaging and interacting positively with the people we support to establish goals to work towards
Providing support, advice and guidance on finances, health, welfare benefits, housing options, digital inclusion and tenancy management skills
Working with external agencies and signposting the people we support to the appropriate services suited to their needs
Skills and Experience Needed -
A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
An understanding of the challenges faced around homelessness and challenges around supporting those with complex needs.
Hold a driving licence and have access to a car
