Summary
To competently perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs on adults and paediatric out-patient and in-patients in a variety of clinical settings. To competently fit, download and analyse ambulatory ECG (24-hour, 48-hour, 78-hour, and 7day tests) and BP recordings. To competently assist Senior Physiologists in exercise tolerance testing, recording measurements (including manual blood pressure), monitoring and reporting all findings. Show understanding of range of non-routine healthcare science activities acquired through training to degree or equivalent level of knowledge. To make judgements within own area of competence, identifying the correct application of procedure and when to report a problem or contra indication. Obtain a brief medical history from patients to ensure all assessments undertaken are done so safely and appropriately. To have a knowledge and understanding of a range of health and safety measures, infection prevention and control, their importance, and their application within your work area. To respond to emergency situations whilst maintaining professional standards and seeking assistance were required effectively, promptly and professionally. Person Specification: BSC Clinical Physiology, Practitioner Training Programme or equivalent. Experience of working as a Healthcare Science Practitioner. Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of healthcare science activities developed through experience as a Healthcare Science practitioner or degree placements. Knowledge and understanding in the recording and interpretation of ECG, ambulatory ECG and Ambulatory BP.
