Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £105-£140 per day (Dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
About the School:
We're recruiting enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support students in a specialist secondary and sixth form setting in Bury.
In this role, you'll work closely with young people aged 11-19, helping them access learning and develop confidence in a supportive environment. The students you'll support have a range of additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, physical impairments, and sensory needs.

Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across secondary and post-16 classes.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and ensuring pupils can access the curriculum effectively.
- Support the development of independence, life skills, and social engagement.
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
- Work closely with the school team, families, and external agencies to ensure a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a school, residential, or community setting. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A commitment to helping pupils achieve independence and life success.
- A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essential
Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant - To Be Eligible You Must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
