Summary
Draw Blood Specimens Extract blood from patients, ensuring to select the correct gauge needles, prepare veins to draw blood, assess patient needs and review patient history and reasons for drawing blood. Maintain Equipment Responsible for cleaning any equipment used in the drawing and testing of blood specimens and order supplies as needed. Prepare Specimens for Courier Responsible for preparing these specimens for the courier collection ensuring timely processing. This includes labelling vials, matching blood samples to patients. Lab Reports Following up patient results to ensure the GP is alerted to any abnormalities.
