Fix Auto Walsall is a high-performing BSI-approved accident repair centre and part of the global Fix Auto network. Due to continued growth and increasing insurer volumes, we are seeking an experienced Senior On-Site VDA to take ownership of on-site damage assessment and repair control, working alongside our established off-site estimating team.
This is a senior operational role suited to a knowledgeable VDA who can confidently manage repairs on the workshop floor, liaise with insurers and engineers, and ensure repairs progress correctly, efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities
• On-site vehicle damage assessment and repair planning
• Liaising with our off-site estimating team to finalise repair methods and costs
• Managing repair progression through the workshop in line with estimate
• Insurer and engineer liaison (authorities, supplements, technical queries)
• Audatex estimate review, validation and amendment
• GT Global workflow and repair status management
• Parts and repair method accuracy checks
• Quality and compliance oversight (BSI / Thatcham methods)
• Supporting workshop controller and production team
• Identifying additional damage and raising supplements
• Ensuring correct repair vs replace decisions
Requirements
• Proven experience as a VDA / Estimator in an accident repair centre
• Strong Audatex estimating experience
• Working knowledge of GT Global
• Excellent understanding of modern vehicle construction & repair methods
• Confident insurer / engineer communication skills
• Ability to control repairs operationally on site
• Strong attention to detail and repair quality focus
• ATA VDA accreditation (preferred but not essential)
