Summary
Senior Accommodation Support Worker

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Accommodation Support Worker to join a specialist accommodation service supporting survivors of domestic abuse and modern slavery.
As a Senior Accommodation Support Worker you will provide leadership, supervision and case oversight within refuge and dispersed accommodation, ensuring high standards of safeguarding, risk assessment, safety planning and person-centred support planning.
The Senior Accommodation Support Worker will promote a trauma-informed, empathetic environment that empowers residents to build independence, access housing, welfare benefits and external services, and move forward safely. This is a fast-paced, rewarding role requiring resilience, partnership working and strong communication skills.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Senior Accommodation Support Worker include:
• Team Supervision and Leadership: Provide line management, guidance and support to support workers, students and volunteers
• Case Oversight and Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality needs assessments, risk assessments and resident-led support plans are completed and reviewed
• Referral and Allocation Management: Oversee new referrals, assess risk, allocate accommodation and ensure contractual targets are met
• Safeguarding and Risk Management: Promote robust safeguarding practice and respond appropriately to concerns involving adults and children
• Resident Advocacy and Support: Advocate for residents with housing, legal, welfare and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
• Group Work and Activities Coordination: Develop and deliver group interventions and activities that support recovery and resilience
• Health and Safety Compliance: Monitor accommodation standards, reporting issues and ensuring safe, secure environments
• Data and Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate records, update case management systems and contribute to performance reporting
• Rota and Resource Planning: Support staffing rotas to ensure appropriate cover and effective service delivery
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in supporting adults experiencing domestic abuse, trauma or multiple disadvantage
• Experience of undertaking risk assessments, safety planning and developing person-centred support plans
• Experience of supervising staff, students or volunteers
• Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children legislation and best practice
• Ability to advocate effectively and build supportive, non-judgemental relationships
• Experience working within a target-driven or contract-led environment
• Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies; the post holder must be female
DESIRABLE
• Knowledge of homelessness, welfare benefits and public funds entitlement
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and motivational interviewing
• Experience of working in refuge, residential or supported accommodation settings
• Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to domestic abuse, modern slavery and immigration
