Summary
You will be responsible for assisting the team in carrying out the statutory licensing functions of the council, including hackney carriage and private hire licensing, alcohol and entertainment licensing, charitable collections and the gambling elements of the service.
You must possess good communication skills (both written and verbal), good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work, as well as a calm and approachable manner when dealing with persons displaying a wide range of emotions.
An understanding and knowledge of licensing issues and legislation would be preferable and you must have previous experience of general administration, ideally in a customer service or regulatory field, including the production of reports and letters and have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
This is a graded post, appointment to the higher grade will be subject to the applicant demonstrating a high level of previous experience in a licensing/enforcement background.
