Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Transport & Allowances Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.26 - £17.22 per hour

Summary:
The Transport and Allowances Officer will provide administrative and customer-focused support to the School Transport & Allowances Team. The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination of school transport services, processing applications for free school meals and allowances, and maintaining accurate records and financial processes.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and operational support to the School Transport & Allowances Team to ensure efficient service delivery.
Undertake HR administration for Passenger Assistants, including coordinating recruitment processes, arranging interviews, training, and managing records.
Verify and process DBS checks and ID verification for school transport drivers and issue driver ID badges.
Process applications and undertake eligibility checks for free school meals and allowances, ensuring timely access for eligible pupils.
Maintain accurate service records and databases to support management reporting and operational planning.
Act as a key contact for parents, schools, and internal staff, providing guidance and advice on school transport and allowances.
Essentials:
Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience providing administrative or business support services in an office environment.
Experience dealing with customer enquiries professionally via telephone, email, or face-to-face.
Experience maintaining accurate records and databases, including financial or customer information.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
