You’ll be part of our Infrastructure team, supporting the core network that connects our data centres, stores, and distribution centres nationwide. From monitoring performance to resolving incidents, you’ll help ensure our network is reliable, safe, and aligned with the needs of our colleagues and customers.
This role will also involve working closely with Booker IT teams, Tesco Technology, external suppliers, and our Service Desk. Occasionally, you may be needed outside normal business hours to support critical incidents.

- Support the delivery of network projects, ensuring they land on time and meet business needs.
- Help manage day‑to‑day network operations and keep systems stable, available, and secure.
- Install, configure, patch, and support network hardware and operating systems in line with our layered‑defence standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network or system issues, including hardware, configuration, and software faults.
- Work with third‑party suppliers to diagnose issues, replace equipment, and deliver effective fixes.
- Support colleagues with network‑related queries, both remotely and face‑to‑face.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams and project updates.
- Produce reports, KPIs, and management information when required.
- Follow change management and system security processes, ensuring compliance with internal and supplier requirements.
- Support disaster recovery testing and help review network risks.
- Identify recurring issues, suggest improvements, and contribute to approved changes.
- Work with Desktop and Applications teams on patching and connectivity tasks.
- Step in for the Lead Engineer when needed.
- Knowledge of network connectivity, firewalls, routers, switches, and access points.
- Experience supporting network systems in a live production environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a structured approach to diagnosing faults.
- Understanding of service management and change control processes.
- Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- A positive, proactive mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.

- A valid Full UK Driving Licence.
