Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated administrator to join the Clinical Liaison Team in the Faculty of Health.

About the role

We are currently seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well organised individual to take up the post of Administrator (Timetabling) to help support the delivery of our medical (BMBS) curriculum.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive and confidential administration, working with academic staff and professional services on the creation of the BMBS annual and weekly timetables for Years 1 and 2, and administrate room bookings for all years.

This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 29 September 2027 due to funding. This can be worked as 2.5 days or 3 equal shorter days, with working days to be discussed upon appointment. The post will be located at the John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford, Plymouth. The team has informal arrangements for partial remote working, and we are happy to discuss this with interested applicants.

We’re currently unable to sponsor this role under the Skilled Worker visa route. However, we welcome applicants who already have the right to work in the UK, including those on visa routes we can accept (e.g. Graduate visas).

What we’re looking for:

You will have:

• Excellent problem-solving skills are essential in this role alongside a high level of accuracy
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Good communication skills are essential as you will liaise with academic staff, external providers and professional services staff to create timetables and organise room bookings
• The ability to work as part of a team is paramount in the Clinical Liaison Team, plus a good understanding of teamwork
• Good IT skills are also essential, particularly good working knowledge of Excel and Outlook. We use Excel daily and require you to be confident and competent with data handling, formulas, filtering etc
• The need to meet and support external providers.

Interviews will involve an IT Exercise.

The Clinical Liaison Team is responsible for providing comprehensive management and administration of the medical and dental schools' clinical placements. The focus of the team is on clinical provider liaison and engaging with the wider health community.
