About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking ICT Applications Manager to lead and coordinate our Core Services Team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure our Core IT Systems—including ERP, DMS and other key operational applications—continue to support an effective, modern and efficient policing service.
You’ll take ownership of shaping system improvements, prioritising change, and driving digital transformation across back‑office processes. Through strategic insight and continual service improvement, you will help modernise our ways of working, enhance productivity, and unlock organisational benefits.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leading and coordinating the Core Services Team to deliver a consistent, high‑quality service to departments across the Force.
Assessing, prioritising and enabling changes to Core Systems in line with national standards and ITIL best practice.
Planning and managing resource requirements to support projects and programmes of work.
Ensuring effective incident management and supplier liaison to meet SLA commitments.
Working with senior leaders and business sponsors to understand requirements and optimise system performance.
Producing clear, insightful reports and recommendations for key stakeholders.
Scanning the internal and external environment for opportunities to drive system improvements and digital innovation.
Managing, coaching and developing team members to meet professional standards and achieve organisational goals.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
Degree‑level education (Level 6) or significant relevant experience in a Business or IT environment.
ITIL Foundation (minimum) with additional ITIL service management qualifications desirable, or a willingness to undertake training.
Experience
Proven experience working within strategic partnerships or collaborative environments.
Strong understanding of Enterprise IT systems and business functionality.
Previous line management or supervisory experience.
Exposure to project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2).
Experience in implementing and managing change programmes.
Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build effective working relationships at senior levels and across departments.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to challenge and make evidence‑based recommendations.
Solid understanding of data protection legislation, information security and data governance.
Self‑motivated with strong planning and decision‑making capabilities.
