Summary

Electrical Estimator / Proposals Engineer

- Contract Type: Permanent

- Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

- Working Hours: 40 hours per week

- Location: Penketh, Warrington, Cheshire

You will be joining an experienced engineering team delivering multidisciplinary design and build solutions across a range of industrial and infrastructure sectors. The organisation has extensive experience delivering complex engineering projects and supporting clients with innovative, value-driven solutions.What will you be doing? In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions for engineering projects.

Key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing tender enquiries to fully understand the project scope and technical requirements

- Identifying and highlighting any commercial, technical, or contractual risks for internal review

- Liaising closely with clients throughout the bid process to clarify requirements

- Preparing accurate cost estimates, including supplier and subcontractor quotations

- Collaborating with engineering teams to gather technical details and agree optimal technical solutions

- Participating in internal bid reviews and technical discussions

- Producing clear and professional proposal documentation

- Attending site visits where required to support the tendering process

- Updating bid progress within internal CRM systems

- Supporting the project handover process when bids are successful

- Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the proposals process

What you'll bring

- Strong technical understanding of LV electrical design, including:

- MCCs

- Switchboards

- Control panels

- Cable sizing

- Motor control

- Field instrumentation

- Knowledge of electrical control and protection principles

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and clients at all levels

- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)

- Currently holding, or working towards, a relevant engineering degree
