Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Mentor to join a specialist provision in Manchester, supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident supporting pupils who may struggle in mainstream education due to behavioural challenges, emotional needs, or previous exclusions. You will play a key role in helping students rebuild confidence, develop positive behaviour strategies, and re-engage with education.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using calm and consistent strategies
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement
- Support teachers in delivering learning activities tailored to students' emotional and behavioural needs
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-regulation
- Contribute to a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Encourage pupils to make positive choices and develop confidence
