The post holder will lead and provide line management support to a widely dispersed team of ADI/Delegated Supervisors/Examiners. The primary role of these staff is to assess the ongoing Standard of people who are authorised by DVSA as Approved Driving Instructors as well as Delegated/3A/Mod 4 examiners/assessors ensuring standards of instruction, assessment and procedures delivered to the public is at a satisfactory level and will not compromise the road safety of individuals or the wider public.
The role covers the management of a wide range of duties including Delegated Supervision, MOD Supervision, Delegated Compliance Audit, 3a Assessor Supervision, CPC Mod 4 Assessor Supervision, CPC Mod 4 Compliance Audit, 3a Compliance Audit, Car Tests, ADI Part 2/3 tests, Standards Checks, ORDIT (Official Register of Driving Instructor trainers), Fleet inspections/accreditations, depending on qualification status. These activities are at DVSA operated sites and third-party premises across a wide geographic network. Regular quality control supervision of ADI/Delegated/3A examiners will ensure a uniform and consistent standard of assessments are delivered by your team.

The post holder will deliver other enforcement activities such as Delegated/3a/Mod4/ADI examiner duties dictated by business needs, ensuring delivery of high quality, efficient and effective services which will contribute to the success of the Enforcement Directorate.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Demonstrate leadership and provide line management, development, motivation and technical support to a widely dispersed team of Enforcement Delegated/3A/Mod4/ADI examiners, to ensure delivery of objectives.Lead and motivate their team by role modelling knowledge and behaviours through support, guidance, technical skills and advice to establish excellent team engagement and performanceContribute to the identification of best practice and to take ownership for communicating and implementing these within own team.Monitoring performance, training, mentoring, and coaching of individuals, preparing/reviewing Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and identifying training needsSet clear performance expectations, monitor delivery to ensure achievement of desired outcomes.Ensure that recognised control procedures and practices are maintained throughout the Enforcement Delegated/3A/Mod4/ADI examiners duties through regular quality monitoring.For further information on the role, please read the role profile.
