Salary: £45,000 + £2,000 annual bonus
Location: Nottingham
Hours: Full-time, 8am–4pm (flexible) + occasional weekend checks
Industry: Hospitality / Night-time Entertainment
Start: ASAP
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the maintenance and compliance operations across a cluster of high‑footfall night-time venues in Nottingham city centre. These are lively, fast‑paced spaces that open daily, making maintenance critical to ensuring safe, smooth, and uninterrupted operations.
If you enjoy leading a team, solving problems on the spot, and working across multiple buildings with a wide variety of repair and maintenance challenges, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible, impactful role.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll combine hands‑on work with leadership and planning responsibilities. Your role will ensure the venues are safe, compliant, and ready for opening each evening.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead, support, and develop a small in-house maintenance team (4–5 tradespeople)
Manage rotas, delegate tasks, and ensure high standards of workmanship
Reactive & Planned Maintenance
Prioritise and oversee daily reactive repairs across multiple venues
Plan and deliver proactive, planned maintenance schedules
Ensure quick turnaround of issues to keep venues operational
Subcontractor Management
Coordinate specialist contractors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarms, waste services)
Ensure jobs are completed safely, to standard, and within budget
Compliance & Reporting
Keep accurate maintenance records and asset registers
Manage statutory inspections (fire, gas, electrical, lifts, HVAC, etc.)
Ensure all venues meet licensing, H&S, and environmental requirements
Communication & Budgeting
Work closely with venue managers to understand operational needs
Plan and manage budgets for labour, repairs, materials, and subcontractors
Typical Maintenance You’ll Handle
These venues are busy, high-wear environments. Daily needs often include:
Lighting and effects repairs (LEDs, festoon, moving lights)
Bar equipment maintenance and minor electrical repairs
Door, lock, and joinery fixes
Plumbing and washroom repairs
Flooring, decorative, and general wear-and-tear issues
Fire alarm checks and emergency lighting maintenance
HVAC troubleshooting and contractor liaison
Daily readiness inspections to ensure smooth evening opening
As a Maintenance Manager no two days are ever the same — this is a hands-on role perfect for a natural problem solver.
About You
We’re looking for a practical, organised Maintenance Manager who enjoys juggling planned and reactive work across multiple buildings.
Essential Skills & Experience

Hands-on trade experience (electrical, joinery, plumbing, or similar)
Proven ability to lead a small team
Experience coordinating subcontractors
Good understanding of H&S, fire safety, and compliance
Strong organisational and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
