Job title: Project Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: Subject to clearance
Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 Per Annum + £Car allowance + Benefits
Location: Whitehaven, Cumbria
Hours of work: 40 Hours Per Week - Office Based 5 days per week, once probation is complete candidate will have the option to work from home 1 day per week.

The Role:
To lead and be responsible for the project team in successfully delivering all aspects of the project. To act as clients primary representative on the project in all matters.

Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Regarding Commercial Management you will be responsible for the overall business results of the project.
* You will cooperate in the process of subcontractor and supplier procurement. Critically review all subcontracts, orders and the like prior to providing final approval for award in accordance with company procedures.
* Where present, identify additional and future business opportunities and provide information to appropriate internal teams.
* Regarding Contract Management you will represent the project to the client, external bodies, and others as required.
* You will ensure the project change management process is correctly followed in line with contract, subcontract, project and company requirements. Maximise commercial opportunities for the client whilst maintaining sustainable business relationships with all parties.
* You will support the client in delivering corporate objectives, strategies and initiatives across all areas of the project and business
* You will provide support to the clients business development and work winning as required, including arranging use of project resources.
* Project Management - you will lead the project team in ensuring compliance and striving to ensure best practice in all areas of the project.
* You will lead the opportunities and risk process on the project, ensuring the project makes full use of ARM and undertake appropriate periodic reviews.
* Make sure production, periodic critical review and update of the project programme, in accordance with project requirements. In conjunction with appropriate section managers, identify areas of variance from planned outputs and production, develop and implement appropriate improvement plans, and ensure capture of required commercial matters.
* Make all project staff appointments as per project IMS plan. Review on a periodic basis and update as required.
* You will manage staff requirements on the project, including identification and management of budgets, oversight of recruitment processes and managing the annual review process. Challenge resource levels, workloads and training needs to ensure a well-balanced, competent and motivated project team is in place.
* You will Implement relevant staff / HR processes and procedures, including disciplinary process, as required.
* You will communicate project requirements to all team members
* You will develop, set and agree challenging stretch targets for all areas of the team. Review progress and update actions and targets as required on an appropriate periodic basis.
* Regarding assurance you will actively promote high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality compliance, including active monitoring of performance. Act as a role model for exceeding compliance. Maintain a high level of personal knowledge of requirements and engage external advisors as required for the project.
* As well as ensuring completion of all required actions following accidents, incidents, near misses and the like. Ensure Observation Cards process is implemented and followed on the project, including active review and feedback.
* You will critically review and approve the project IMS plan. Ensure compliance in all areas through leading and implementing the measures defined in the plan. Undertake duties as identified and appointed.
* You will also undertake other duties as defined and appointed under the Project Specific IMS plan or as defined by the Project Director.
* Other duties will include providing records of innovation, lessons learned and improvements from all project areas to support business development and improvements.
* Producing or ensuring production of all required project reports, forecasts and improvement plans, both internally and externally, including taking ownership of the contents thereof.
* Ensuring all required documented outputs and records are correctly uploaded to Themis and other project document control systems.


Experience/Qualifications:
* All candidates MUST hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering/Project Management Equivalent
* All candidates MUST hold a Project Management qualification such as APM, Prince 2 etc.
* All candidates MUST have a strong understanding of NEC, JCT Contracts
* All candidates MUST have previous Sellafield site experience
* All candidates MUST have a strong understanding of Health, Safety & Welfare within the work place.
