Job Overview
Alliance Transfer Service is looking for private hire and hackney carriage drivers to join our school transport team. This opportunity is ideal for drivers who hold a valid private hire or hackney carriage licence from Doncaster City Council, Wolverhampton City Council, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, or Rotherham Metropolitan Borough, but do not yet have a private hire or hackney carriage vehicle.
We provide the vehicle, insurance, and a fuel card for all work-related journeys.
In this part-time, self-employed role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children between home and school during term time. Working hours are Monday to Friday, aligned with school hours, with a minimum of 15–25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
• Safely transport pupils between their home or designated pick-up point and school.
• Work alongside a Passenger Assistant when provided.
• Support pupils with additional needs; training may be provided where required.
• Wear an identification badge confirming an enhanced DBS check.
• Maintain professional communication with parents, schools, and Alliance Transfer Service.
• Report incidents, accidents, and any concerns about pupil welfare or behaviour.
• Ensure the safe operation of the vehicle, considering road conditions and pupil behaviour.

Requirements
• Must hold a valid private hire or hackney carriage badge (Doncaster, Wolverhampton, Barnsley, or Rotherham).
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with children and colleagues.
• Willingness to obtain a taxi driver’s badge, including a DBS check and driving assessment (fully funded by the company).
