Summary
SEN Learning Support Assistant | Year 3/4 – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis.
This is a full-time role starting 9 March 2026 and continuing until 27 March 2026, covering the remainder of the Spring term. There is potential for the position to continue through the Summer term. The role involves supporting pupils within a mixed Year 3/4 class, providing additional support to pupils with SEN to help them engage in learning and develop confidence in the classroom. This position would suit a patient, proactive individual who enjoys supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting pupils within a mixed Year 3/4 classroom environment
Providing additional support for pupils with special educational needs
Delivering targeted support through small group work and 1:1 assistance where required
Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in classroom learning
Working collaboratively with the class teacher to support pupil progress

Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a primary school setting
A calm, patient, and supportive approach to working with children
Confidence delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive attitude to supporting learning
Pay
£14.85 per hour
