1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis.
This is a part-time role (mornings only) starting 9 March 2026 and continuing until 27 March 2026, covering the remainder of the half term with the potential for the role to continue beyond this period. The position involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and remain engaged within the classroom environment. This role would suit a patient, supportive individual who is confident building strong relationships and adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
Supporting the pupil to access classroom learning and follow daily routines
Adapting activities and resources to support engagement and understanding
Encouraging positive behaviour and participation in learning tasks
Working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support
Helping the pupil build confidence and independence within the classroom
What You’ll Bring
Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting
A patient, calm, and supportive approach to working with children
Confidence providing 1:1 support within a classroom environment
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff
Reliability and consistency when supporting pupils with additional needs
Pay
£14.85 per hour
