Summary

The Council’s Strategic Housing Service is looking to recruit a Senior Housing Finance and Compliance Officer to support the team with the administration of essential financial processes for the provision of temporary accommodation and other services associated with the support of homeless households.


The Council currently has around 600 homeless households in temporary accommodation and another 200 in supported housing provided by a range of landlords, Registered Providers, private agencies, leased accommodation and local charities. This role is critical to maintaining best use of resources, ensuring income and expenditure is managed on a daily basis.


Knowledge and experience of managing rent and other financial accounts and processing is essential either within a local authority, housing association or similar organisation.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team. The work inevitably requires involvement at times with complex and challenging issues but there is the satisfaction knowing that you will be part of a team that is helping families manage in the most desperate situations.


You will be required to work 37 hours per week based at the Civic Centre but with some flexibility to work from home in accordance with the Council’s flexible working policy.
