Summary
The Professional Lead – Strategic Planning will be responsible for leading, managing, and delivering:
The development of planning policy in line with the corporate vision.
The delivery of place planning and the realisation of the Welsh Government Transforming Towns initiative.
This role will focus on the corporate vision of the Stronger, Fairer, Greener transformation Delivery Programme. You will have primary responsibility for establishing effective governance of the strategic planning team. You will ensure projects produce the required deliverables within defined quality, time, and cost constraints and achieve full realisation of the benefits defined in their business cases.
What you will do:
To take the lead in the monitoring, review and formulation of planning policy, with emphasis on the maintenance of an up to date and relevant Development Plan(s) and associated planning policy documents.
To work closely with the Council’s Development Management Service to ensure the delivery of an integrated planning service for customers.
To be responsible for leading, managing and delivering a strategic programme of transformation and change to ensure new capabilities, the realisation of benefits and programme closure, with specific reference to the corporate vision Stronger, Fairer, Greener transformation Delivery Programme.
To lead on the delivery of Public Service Board response to the climate emergency on behalf of the Council.
