About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, practical, and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our friendly primary school team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school premises as required

  
  

• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and minor DIY tasks

  
  

• Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and secure

  
  

• Managing health and safety checks, including fire alarms and risk assessments

  
  

• Overseeing cleaning staff or contractors where applicable

  
  

• Preparing rooms and facilities for school events and activities

  
  

• Monitoring site security and responding to alarms or emergencies

  
  

• Managing deliveries and stock of maintenance supplies

  
  The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (desirable)

    
    

  • Practical DIY and maintenance skills

    
    

  • A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail

    
    

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

    
    

  • The ability to work independently and use initiative

    
    

  • An understanding of health and safety procedures
