Summary
Connect Appointments have a new opportunity for a School Caretaker to help maintain a local school in the Pemberton area of Wigan.

- A full-time permanent position
- Paid at £14 to £15 per hour - dependent on experience
- Working split shifts across Monday to Friday
- Monday to Wednesday, 6am to 10:15am & 2:30pm to 5:45pm
- Thursday to Friday, 6am to 10am & 2:30pm to 5:45pm
Working as a School Caretaker, your role will be to ensure that the school and its grounds are clean, safe and compliant for the range of activities and classes held. As such your duties will include:
- Set up and prepare for group activities and classes
- Tidy and maintain activity areas to a high standard
- Carry out general cleaning duties, including mopping, sweeping, window cleaning, and emptying bins
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of communal fridges and cupboards
- Clean spills or accidents and disinfect areas thoroughly
- Safely dilute and use cleaning chemicals according to guidelines
- Perform health and safety checks in line with centre policies and procedures
- Identify and report safety hazards, taking follow-up action where delegated
- Ensure fire exits remain clear and fire doors function properly
- Maintain internal and external areas of the building
- Welcome visitors and service users, providing information on facilities and H&S (e.g. fire procedures, toilets)
- Complete daily tasks and weekly paperwork as needed
To be successful in this job, you'll ideally have previous experience in a cleaning or building management environment. Combined with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions; work on your own and as part of a team; able to manage your own time and workload.
