Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you ready to be the difference that helps young people rediscover hope, confidence, and a love of learning?
Now entering its second year, The Lighthouse, our nurturing school‑within‑a‑school Alternative Curriculum Provision, has already made remarkable progress, with many students reengaging in education. We are seeking aninspiring, relational, and forward‑thinking leader to guide The Lighthouse into its next phase, supporting young people experiencing Emotionally Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA), and building a culture where every young person feels safe, valued, and ready to thrive. This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead a provision that is genuinely transforming lives and opening up new futures for our young people who need it most.
We are looking for…
• A values‑driven teacher with strong moral purpose and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Someone with experience of curriculum planning, personalised learning, and working with students who face significant barriers to engagement.
• A practitioner skilled in relational practice, trauma‑informed approaches, and supporting learners experiencing EBSA.
• A flexible, creative leader who can line‑manage staff, build strong professional relationships, and work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
• A reflective educator committed to ongoing professional development and modelling high‑quality teaching.
What the school offers its staff
In return, we offer…
• The opportunity to lead a rapidly developing, high‑impact provision that is already changing lives in its first year.
• A supportive, ambitious Trust with strong networks, including SEND collaboration and rich professional learning opportunities.
• A committed team, positive culture, and the chance to shape innovative curriculum pathways within a school‑within‑a‑school model.
• The space to embed your vision for relational practice, alternative learning, and inclusion, making a profound difference to learners who need it most.
