About the role

We are seeking an ICT Project Manager to lead the delivery of strategic technology projects from initiation through to transition into business as usual. Working within the ICT PMO, you will manage scope, budgets, risks and governance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across ICT and the wider organisation to define requirements, maintain momentum and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires effective leadership, structured project management skills and a motivated, solutions-focused approach to delivering successful ICT change.

This role is advertised for 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday and you will be based at our Science Museum in London. For the first six months, the role requires a minimum of three days per week on site. Following successful completion of probation, the expectation will reduce to two days per week on site in line with our hybrid working model.

About you

We want to hear from enterprising, self-motivated ICT Project Managers who appreciate a generalist role with constantly shifting priorities. You'll bring a proven track record of delivering infrastructure and software projects, using Agile, PRINCE2 or equivalent best-practice methodologies, and be comfortable owning projects end-to-end - from shaping scope and managing budgets through to delivery and benefits realisation. Stakeholder management is key: you'll build credible relationships at all levels, communicate with clarity, inspire buy-in and constructively challenge where needed, all while advocating for organisational decisions and maintaining momentum against hard deadlines.

You'll be someone who makes considered, data-driven decisions, identifies risks and cost-saving opportunities early, and can revise plans effectively when unexpected delays occur. An effective problem-solver, you manage your own workload, but collaborate effectively with project teams and wider stakeholders to develop practical, strategic solutions. Experience delivering software projects, ideally within Agile environments, would be advantageous, though not essential. Above all, we're looking for a values-driven leader who is motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes and contributing to an open and inclusive organisation.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
