Summary


A Personal Assistant is required to support an autistic five‑year‑old girl living in Truro.

Her language is developing; she communicates using single words, short sentences and gestures, and is able to express her needs and understand a great deal.

The Personal Assistant will act as a second pair of hands, supporting her and her parent to explore the local community and enjoy family days out together.

The role includes supporting her at home and in the community, helping her take part in activities she enjoys, ensuring her safety, and following familiar routines.

Five hours per week are available, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability. Some weekend and school‑holiday availability will be needed.

This is a rewarding role, supporting a young person to access the community, enjoy activities, and helping her family balance everyday life.

The rate of pay starts at £13.50 per hour with potential increase based on skills and experience.

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential. A full driving licence is desirable. Experience with complex medical needs is helpful but not essential.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
