Summary

To support and enhance the University’s Legal Services function by acting as a key member of the Research and Innovation Contracts team with increased responsibility and autonomy.

The postholder will:
i) lead on the administration, oversight, and development of the University’s routine research-related contracting processes;
ii) independently draft, review, and negotiate standard and low-risk commercial agreements;
iii) take primary responsibility for managing and improving University-wide NDA, MTA and MoU processes and associated guidance; and
iv) act as a first point of contact for academic and professional service colleagues, providing informed advice, triage, and risk-based recommendations.

The role contributes to ensuring legal compliance, procedural efficiency, risk-aware contracting, and the continuous improvement of University contracting frameworks.

Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.

The interviews are currently anticipated to be held week beginning 23 March 2026.
