Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Temporary Accommodation Officer (SO2) to join our dynamic team. In this essential role, you will be instrumental in providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need of temporary accommodation services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of housing policies and regulations, along with the ability to work empathetically with diverse client groups. As a Temporary Accommodation Officer, you will be responsible for assessing housing needs, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that appropriate temporary accommodation is provided to those experiencing homelessness or housing instability. This position requires excellent communication skills, a detail-oriented approach, and a commitment to promoting housing solutions that prioritize the dignity and well-being of vulnerable populations. Responsibilities
Assess clients' eligibility for temporary accommodation services and conduct comprehensive housing assessments.
Coordinate placements in temporary accommodations, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Act as a key point of contact for clients seeking temporary housing solutions, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
Work collaboratively with social services, housing providers, and community organizations to facilitate access to support services for clients.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, housing placements, and service outcomes in accordance with data protection policies.
Provide information and advice to clients regarding their rights and responsibilities in relation to temporary accommodation.
Develop and implement strategies for improving service delivery and client satisfaction regarding temporary accommodation services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, housing studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience in housing services.
Strong knowledge of housing policies, regulations, and best practices related to temporary accommodation.
Experience working with vulnerable populations and understanding the challenges they face in securing housing.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions for clients.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated in managing individual responsibilities.
