Summary
Central Recruitment is currently working with an organisation passionate about helping people develop independence and meet their personal goals and aspirations.
Our client is currently recruiting for an Accommodation Officer to work in the Hackney area at a service providing accommodation and support to adults aged 55 and older.
• 38 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00
• Temporary: approx. 1 - 2 months (rolling weekly basis)
• £16.23 per hour (£14.17 per hour, with £2.06 holiday pay)
Please note; you'll be based across two older people's services in the Hackney area.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare for the arrival of new tenants
• Sign individuals to licence agreements and carrying out an inventory
• Explain the terms of the occupancy agreement
• Carry out weekly welfare checks
• Induct residents into their new home
• Undertake end-of-tenancy checks
• Ensure that any repairs/decorating is reported
• Maintain spreadsheets on the flat occupied, exit plans, and timeline for moving out
• Liaise with the DSPA management group
• Review the management of empty properties to minimise revenue lost
• Ensure void status data is accurate
What we’re looking for:
• Experience providing a supported housing service to vulnerable tenants
• Experience effectively managing and responding to complaints
• Experience managing tenancy breaches
• Ability to provide welfare benefit and debt management advice
• Ability to carry out assessments and liaise with support providers to agree suitability
• Ability to attend court and represent the landlord at DIY possession hearings
• Experience of voids management
• Experience carrying out property inspections and coordinating repairs
• Ability to manage housing benefit claims and negotiate arrears repayments
• Ability to monitor and plan service charge expenditure
• Strong understanding of the supported housing sector and current legislation
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
