Location: Coventry
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: March 2026
Salary: Dependent on experience

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a large, friendly two-form entry primary school in Coventry. This role is based within the school’s specialist SEN provision, a dedicated classroom designed to support and welcome pupils with severe additional needs.

You’ll be working closely with an experienced class teacher and a supportive team to provide tailored learning and emotional support to a small group of 6 pupils, ensuring they can thrive in a positive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex and diverse learning needs
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes
  • Support behaviour management and help pupils develop social and communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
    About You

This is a challenging yet incredibly rewarding role — no two days will be the same. We are looking for someone who is:

    • Qualified in SEN (or has relevant training and experience in special needs education)
    • Experienced in working with children with additional and complex needs
    • Resilient, patient, and calm under pressure
    • Empathetic and understanding, with a genuine passion for helping every child reach their potential
    • Thick-skinned, able to remain positive and professional in the face of challenging behaviour
      Why Join This School?
      • Work within a well-resourced, inclusive school that values teamwork and professional development
      • Be part of a committed and compassionate staff team
      • Make a real difference to the lives of children who need support the most

If you’re passionate about special education and ready to take on a rewarding new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
