Summary
The ICT Department are seeking to fill a vacancy for a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Senior System Administrator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
This role will primarily be to support, maintain and configure the Trust's EPMA system eMeds.
They will need to liaise with 3rd Party suppliers to resolve some incidents and test resolutions to ensure they meet the needs of the service.
The ideal candidate will have some previous knowledge of EPMA systems and workflows(ideally OPTUM/eMis) and will have a broad understanding of the requirements of the clinical teams using the system.
The post holder must have:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A high level of computer literacy on software packages such as Excel and Word
• Knowledge of specific systems such as ePMA, Datix and RiO
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Relevant NHS experience
• The flexibility to work at short notice from various Trust sites when required as well as remotely
Tasks will include:
• Configuration of the eMeds system following the change management process
• Understanding and resolving complex help desk issues through to resolution
• Produce and maintain team documentation such as user and process guides
• Provide support and knowledge to all staff and nominated users
• Undertake audits to ensure datawithin the systemisaccurate
• To provide additional support to the Datix team during busy periods or absences
• Manage planned and unplanned downtime
• To deputise for the eMeds Configuration Lead
• Assist the eMeds Configuration Lead with testing/implementation during upgrades

Key tasks and responsibilities are listed below but are not exhaustive -
• Providing second and third-line support for eMeds system support calls escalated via the ServiceDesk or directly
• Understanding and interpreting the complex issues presented by end users to ensure an appropriate response
• Performing diagnostic testing to identify sources of reported faults
• When faults cannot be resolved internally, liaising with the 3rdparty supplier to achieve a resolution quickly
• Communicating the next steps to the end user concisely and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of implications and any other complexities
• Maintaining records on the ServiceDesk of all communications, next steps, and outcomes
• Resolving complex and sometimes sensitive issues that cannot be resolved by the ServiceDesk

• Liaise with the relevant senior managers throughout the Trust regarding change requests for the Trusts eMeds and Datix systems
• Provide advice to other departments and project managers regarding the development of new systems which impact eMeds and Datix
• Assist with testing programmes for new functionality, upgrades, and after downtime
• Liaising with end users and other departments to arrange system maintenance during planned and unplanned downtime
• Provide limited basic training to end users
General responsibilities
• To work closely with the support teams to deliver the ICT Strategy and replacement clinical system within the context of national ICT and other related strategies and policy documents
• To be committed to delivering the vision for ICT across the Trust working with the appropriate personnel to achieve successful implementation.
• To work towards developing and maintaining good working relationships within the department, the Trust and wider community within which we work.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NHS Information requirements as they apply to the Trust and our systems by attending conferences, workshops, presentations and training events.
• To participate in regular personal development reviews
• To comply with all Trust policies and procedures as they apply
• To undertake any additional duties as directed by the Information systems manager and Head of ICT
Management responsibilities
• To provide accurate advice to health professionals and managers both written and verbal
• To provide excellent organisational and liaison skills and work with information department staff, clinicians, managers and other staff at all levels within the organisation
• To assist the Systems Configuration Lead - eMeds with the selection and recruitment of staff within the eMeds and Datix Teams
• Training new members of staff
• To deputise for the System Configuration Lead eMeds in their absence
• Ensure that the roles of direct reports are well defined and jobs are designed to motivate and encourage the development of all staff
• Ensure that the performance of direct reports is actively managed through the Trust’s Performance Development Review System ensuring they receive effective supervision to optimise their performance
• Responsible for undertaking appropriate action with direct reports, in relation to any discipline, grievance, poor performance and sickness issues, in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures
• To ensure staff are aware and comply with all aspects of health and safety at work
• Promote teamwork, communication and development within the ICT department.
