Design Manager - Leading Main Contractor
Tier 1 standards. Real collaboration.
A major UK main contractor-financially strong, debt‑free, and led by former Tier 1 leaders-is looking for a Design Manager who wants to escape the slow, hierarchical Tier 1 model and join a business where decisions are quick, communication is clear, and collaboration is key.

This integrated setup means most of the supply chain is internal, aligned, and invested in delivering the same outcome.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Leading design coordination across multidisciplinary teams

  • Working closely with internal group specialists (RC frame, piling, demo, joinery, fit‑out)

  • Driving clarity, buildability, and programme certainty

  • Challenging design where needed, without the politics

  • Supporting pre‑construction and shaping early design strategy


Who We're Looking For
Someone who:

  • Has Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2

  • Thrives in a collaborative, low‑ego environment.

  • Communicates clearly and respectfully.

  • Wants to deliver quality work without red tape.

  • Brings Tier 1 standards but wants a more agile way of working.
