Design Manager - Industrial & Logistics Projects

Midlands | Leading Main Contractor | £500m+ Turnover

A major Midlands contractor with a £500m+ annual turnover is expanding its Design Management team and seeking a driven Design Manager to lead the pre‑construction and delivery design process on high‑value industrial and logistics schemes.

This is a business known for its stability, repeat clients, and consistent growth across the private sector. With a strong pipeline of projects ranging from £35m to £80m, you'll be joining a company that invests heavily in its people, its supply chain, and its technical capability.

The Role

You'll take ownership of design coordination from tender through to delivery, ensuring technical excellence, buildability, and compliance across multidisciplinary teams. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Leading design development on major industrial & logistics projects

  • Managing consultants, internal teams, and specialist subcontractors

  • Driving buildability, value engineering, and risk mitigation

  • Ensuring design information is delivered on time and to the required standard

  • Supporting bid teams with technical input, programme advice, and methodology

  • Acting as the key interface between design, commercial, and operations

  • Championing quality, innovation, and digital design processes

About You
