Summary
Band 4 Technical Instructor - Orthopaedics: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Technical Instructor to join our inpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy team.
You will play a key role in the therapy management and treatment of patients who have been admitted with a wide range of orthopaedic conditions including total knee replacements, total hip replacements and foot/ankle surgeries. You will also be expected to support the delivery of the Guys Orthopaedic Outreach service in the community. This is a permanent post and will require the post holder to deliver high quality orthopaedic physiotherapy interventions for orthopaedic patients on a number of inpatient wards.
You will be expected to:
- work independently within the orthopaedic physiotherapy team
- prescribe, progress and develop exercise programmes for patients undergoing rehabilitation post orthopaedic surgery
-deliver pre-education to those awaiting joint replacements
- assist and support rotational team members
You will have completed NVQ Level 4 or have significant experience of working with patients with in a rehabilitation setting. You will have excellent communication, motivational and team working skills.
This post would suit an applicant who is able to manage their own time effectively and be confident to work unsupervised for part of the day.
The Elective Orthopaedics Physiotherapy service is a 7-day service, so the post holder will be required to work on scheduled weekends and cover some later shift patterns.
You will be supported by the Senior Physiotherapists in the team and receive a full induction and regular in-service teaching in the team and with the band 4 TI group.
You will also have a yearly personal development plan.
