The Opportunity
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school based in a village setting in the LE12 area. The school supports pupils aged 7-16 who benefit from a calm, structured and therapeutic approach to education.
With small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios, the school focuses on building trust, supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils re-engage with learning. The curriculum is broad and engaging, incorporating Life Skills, PE, Art, Cooking and Forest School, giving pupils opportunities to learn in practical and meaningful ways.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across the school day
- Assist teachers with the delivery of structured and engaging lessons
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional development and resilience
- Help pupils develop social skills, independence and confidence
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and well-managed learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEMH or SEN
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work well as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
