You will be supporting pupils in Feltham and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering adapted and differentiated learning activities
- Help implement individual education plans and personalised support strategies
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and communication needs
- Promote a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist pupils with personal care needs where required
- Monitor and record pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff
- Contribute to wider school life during longer‑term placements
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils
- Confident using behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies
- Adaptable across different key stages and school environments
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
