Summary

Private Office is one of the most dynamic teams in DCMS, involved in all aspects of departmental business. In this, role you be a trusted adviser to the Minister, and work across the Department and Government to drive delivery on her portfolio (Sport, Civil Society, Tourism and Youth).

As a team, we are here to help our Ministers and senior officials deliver their priorities, and to support the Department in working with them. The Secretary of State, Rt Hon Lisa Nandy MP, has overall policy responsibility for all DCMS areas. She is supported by a team of three ministers:

  • Minister of State, Rt Hon Ian Murray MP
  • Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Stephanie Peacock MP
  • Lords Minister, Baroness Twycross

Private Office is part of the wider Corporate Strategy Directorate.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of DCMS, directly supporting the Minister for Sport, Tourism, Civil Society and Youth with their diary, engagements and stakeholder management. The role will be challenging and rewarding, requiring the successful candidate to build strong collaborative relationships with the Minister, Private Secretaries and the wider Private Office, as well as stakeholders from within and outside the Department. The role will be fast paced as you work to support the delivery of departmental priorities, while managing a busy diary and other competing interests or commitments. The successful candidate will have varied responsibilities, including working on delivering parliamentary business, managing a busy workload and diary commitments, and general administrative support for Private Office. This role would suit an ambitious self-starter who is keen to work in a high-pressured, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will need to be proactive, organised, and able to juggle multiple priorities independently.
