Summary


IMT3 –ST6

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Gastroenterology & Simulation. This twelve-month post offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee to develop experience and skills as a Medical Educator. This post is 50% Clinical in nature and 50% Simulation/Education. You are expected to coveralternate Mon pm clinics.

Have run, developed and directed a simulation course

2. Presented at a national or international simulation conference

3. Completed various simulation-based research outputs

4. Developed skills and experience in medical education

1. Key faculty member – hands on delivery and teaching of simulation courses across the trust to the doctors, nurses and allied health professionals



2. Management & Leadership – e.g. support department to organize and run regular educational sessions



3. Quality assurance – e.g. obtaining and analyzing participant and facilitator feedback, writing/publishing significant findings and dissemination of good practice throughout the UK



4. Work closely with the British Society of Gastroenterology & JAG to develop & deliver of JAG approved mandatory Basic Skills in Upper & Lower Endoscopy courses locally



5. Complete simulation based research outputs and present at national and international conferences



6. Support the TPD in delivery of Regional Teaching Programme



7. Work closely with other Homerton Simulation fellows on designated projects.



8. Clinical sessions (2 sessions/1day) at Homerton healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to meet trainees training needs. In addition 3 service clinical sessions (Endoscopy/Clinics). Some of the endoscopy sessions will be flexible to support the ‘backfill’ of lists.You are expected to cover alternate Monday PM clinics.



9. Delivery of In Situ Simulation programme in ACU, General Medical Wards and Endoscopy.



10.Organisation of the departmental education meetings.
