This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a trainee with an interest in education to develop as a clinical medical educator within the exciting field of simulation. This is a twelve month post aimed at those who wish to build on their personal teaching experience to develop expertise in educational theory and practice, and undertake supervised educationalresearch.



This post is designed to provide a wide range of educational experience for a higher trainee who wishes to make a commitment to education as part of their career.

• To develop their skills in simulation and medical education
• Teaching on simulation and clinical skills Programme, especially with multidisciplinary, in situ training
• To develop, implement and deliver innovative simulation training & courses, at course director level
• Be able to develop own teaching materials and gain experience in the obtaining funding for training and equipment
• Be provided with an opportunity to gain an educational qualification to the level of certificate or above
• To liaise with The Medical School, Foundation School, relevant Specialty Schools and other key stakeholders (e.g. Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy) to optimize co- operation and the use of existing resources
• To participate in educational research (e.g. simulation training & transferable skills), management and educational governance (e.g. participation in Simulation Strategy Group meetings)
• Participation in Medical Education Committee meetings
