Summary

Principal Quantity Surveyor needed in Derby, £23.87ph PAYE - 5287466

Their main role is to ensure that a project is completed within budget, on time, and in accordance with legal and quality standards.

  • Cost Planning and Estimation
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets at all stages of a project
  • Advise clients on project affordability and value for money
  • Procurement and Tendering
  • Prepare tender documents and bills of quantities
  • Evaluate tenders and recommend suitable contractors
  • Contract Administration
  • Manage construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms
  • Handle variations, claims, and dispute resolution
  • Cost Control During Construction
  • Monitor project expenditure and cash flow
  • Assess interim payments and certify work completed
  • Risk Management
  • Identify financial and contractual risks
  • Advise on strategies to minimise cost overruns and delays
  • Final Accounts and Project Close-Out
  • Prepare and agree final accounts with contractors
  • Ensure all financial matters are settled at project completion
  • Legal and Commercial Advice
  • Provide guidance on construction law, contracts, and commercial best practice

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis
