Learning Support Assistant: Primary Phase Employer: Holymead Primary
Location: Brislington, Bristol
Contract: Fixed Term until July 2027 (or earlier if the funding ceases).
Hours: 5 Days per week 8.30 - 3.20pm
Salary: BG5 (£25,185 FTE, approximately £17,979.34 pro rata per annum) -BG6 (£25,989 FTE, approximately £18,553.31 pro rata per annum) Depending on experience
Closing date: 23rd February 2026We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is skilled in working with children with SEND including those with SEMHs needs and challenging behaviour.We are looking for: • An enthusiastic, empathetic and hardworking Learning Support Assistant with a knowledge of de-escalation strategies.
• A resilient practitioner with the skills and empathy needed to support high needs pupils, including pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
• A highly flexible and adaptable individual who is able and willing to work across the primary phase (Reception to year 6).
• A commitment to building professional relationships with pupils and supporting them both academically and pastorally
• An desire to make adjustments to support those pupils with special educational needs.
• The ability to undertake various roles including in class support, small group and individual learning interventions, 1 to 1 individual support for pupils and lunchtime supervision.Holymead Primary School is a three-form entry school at the heart of its community in Brislington, South Bristol.
