Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Role
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for executing and optimizing preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring all machinery and equipment operates in compliance with regulatory standards and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM): Develop, schedule, and execute comprehensive PM and PdM programs for all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Reactive Maintenance and Repair: Swiftly diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures (mechanical and electrical), performing timely repairs to restore operation with minimal disruption to production. Where necessary utilise external partners to support.
Continuous Improvement: Identify chronic equipment failures and inefficiencies. Utilize tools like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement long-term solutions, reducing recurring issues.
System Upgrades and Installations: Assist in the specification, installation, commissioning, and validation of new plant equipment, machinery, and utilities.
Documentation and CMMS: Accurately document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair history within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely, adhering to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and complying with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Inventory Management: Work with the stores department to ensure critical spare parts inventory is maintained at optimal levels.
Required Qualification
Education & Experience
Qualifications in a related technical field (e.g., HND/HNC) combined with extensive practical experience will be considered.
Electrical qualifications will be advantageous
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience with shot blast, paint, welding systems and general factory maintenance
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical proficiency in both mechanical and electrical maintenance (multi-skilled preferred).
Expertise in fault-finding and diagnosis of complex machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritize emergency repairs.
· Able to design maintenance procedures and methods.
· Proficiency with a CMMS or similar maintenance scheduling software.
Working Hours:
· Mon – Thu 6:00am – 16:30
· Overtime will be required as necessary
