Summary

About the role We are recruiting to an FY2-equivalent role in Diabetes at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. This position is suited to doctors looking to gain additional clinical experience before entering specialty training. The role combines service delivery with educational opportunities within the Division of Medicine. Post-holders will work under the supervision of a named consultant and have access to a range of professional development activities, including medical education, quality improvement, and leadership. While this is not a recognised UK training post, the role provides opportunities to enhance your CV and gain experience relevant to future applications. Support will be available to help you work towards completing the Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) Form, depending on your prior experience and progress. Main duties Post-holders will take supervised responsibility for patient care, building on their existing skills and experience. As they progress, they will continue to work under clinical supervision while gradually taking on more responsibility, including contributing to clinical decision-making. The role also provides opportunities to develop core skills in leadership, education, and training. By the end of the post, candidates will have gained experience in clinical effectiveness, decision-making, and patient management, preparing them for the next stage of their careers. Successful applicants will initially be given lead roles in identified projects in one or more of the areas identified below reflecting their key interests and objectives for their year. In addition, they will be encouraged and supported in creating new initiatives/projects which address challenges and opportunities facing the Trust.
