An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Benefit Team.
Reporting directly to the Housing Benefit Assessment Manager, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who is willing to take on a challenge and is committed to developing their skills and knowledge. This post is permanent for 15 hours per week Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a highly motivated, customer focused individual to predominantly help manage the work resulting from applications for Housing Benefit from tenants within Specified Accommodation (Supported Housing) schemes, ensuring that claims and the work associated is efficiently processed within given timescales and providers and stakeholders receive accurate and timely information in accordance with legislation and Council policy.
Applicants will be tasked with ensuring the service is delivered as flexibly as possible to best meet the needs and demands of the customer and will need to keep abreast of legislative changes in respect to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction to ensure the service remains compliant in operational and policy activity to ensure that all are determined in accordance with legislative requirements, statutory time limits and internal targets.
The successful candidate will have practical experience of working in a benefits environment enabling a thorough knowledge of Housing and Council Tax Benefit legislation, procedures and best practice.
Previous supervisory experience is essential.
