We are looking for a senior developer, with the drive and passion to join a talented, experienced delivery team as we shape the future for our digital and data services.

As a Senior Developer you will play a key role in the design, build, support, implementation and improvement of digital services, products and platforms across DfT. You will have good communication skills and enjoy working in agile teams to build services and participate in developing our own team capabilities.

Working as part of a talented team, at this role level, you will:

  • Plan and lead development on sets of related stories.
  • Have an understanding of the whole system and take responsibility for teaching this to others.
  • Work with other disciplines to understand what needs to be built.
  • Coach and mentor more junior colleagues.
  • Operate the production services you build.
  • Find ways to improve system robustness, resilience and stability.
  • Participate in various technologies communities of practise.

You will:

  • Take ownership of your ways of working and be adaptable to change.
  • Role model positive behaviours and support the embedding of the new target operating model and the changes to the ways of working.
  • Develop and implement effective development plans and demonstrate continuous professional development.
